Grainzilla is an eCommerce of visual fx and tools for filmmakers. The slogan is “Make Digital Video Look Like Film”. Grainzilla is a recognized brand well known in the filmmaking industry used by thousands of filmmakers and businesses around the world. I started this project from scratch in 2013, developing the products, identity, website, contents and marketing strategy. Some of the skills used were graphic design, video creation, motion graphics, digital marketing, business development, product development, project management, UX and UI design, management and configuration of MCS platforms and web tools, and the business methodology called Lean Startup.
This project is a good example of what I am capable of doing with the skills and the knowledge that I have acquired through the years. Grainzilla is the result of years of trying to undertake a project online. After failing several times, the knowledge acquired from those experiences helped me to understand what is needed to succeed.
Some software and tools used were Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, After Effects, WordPress and Amazon Web Services.
PortraiTO is an innovative project about a series of micro-documentaries of people who live in Toronto, ON, Canada that have an interesting story to tell and that represent the spirit and lifestyle of the city.
I produced, directed, filmed and edited these films, as an experiment to discover new ways to tell stories in a short (micro) format that explores the mindset of the characters while they show how Toronto has influenced in their life.
This is a no-budget project produced with my own resources in order to proof my filmmaking skills.
The first delivery is a portrait of Ivan Wanis Ruiz called “The Juggler”. It was filmed in late 2016. This chapter was filmed in a TAP (The Actors Place) meeting.
The second chapter of PortraiTO “Lyrical Disciple” is a story about a Christian rapper and his journey to get saved by music.
More films are coming soon.
